The farewell celebrations for the outgoing batch were celebrated with pomp and joy. It was an event jointly organized by the I &II BBA. All the students of III BBA actively participated in the event, adding to the lively atmosphere and ensuring that the farewell was a fitting tribute to their time in the program. The combined efforts of all classes made the celebration a grand success, leaving lasting impressions on everyone present.

Department of Management Studies conducted Industrial visit for the students pursuing their IVth semester BBA on 07/03/2024 at Achoor Tea Factory, Achoor Estate,Wayanad. During the visit, the entire students were divided into two halves which were supported by the staff of the enterprise. They explained in detail the various processes and working of the firm. The students travelled across various departments and identified the actual structure of the firm. After the visit a presentation was made highlighting the progress and prospects of the company in future. Based on the visit the students are asked to submit a report regarding the same.

Sandeep Suresh, BDO at Xylem Learning in Calicut served as the resource person, sharing his expertise on essential managerial skills. The Department of Management Studies at Payyanur College organized a National Level Inter-Collegiate Management Fest, “Thriamvos’24,” on February 21st and 22nd, 2024. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Vigi V Nair, Head of the Department. Dr. Santhosh V. M., Principal of Payyanur College, presided over the function, while the inauguration was carried out by Mr. Subhash Babu K., Founder and Managing Director of MIZONE. The program details were outlined by Archana K., with felicitation addresses delivered by Mr. Muhammed Thayyib, Assistant Professor and Devasena P, a representative of the College Union. Ms. Malavika Vinod concluded the inaugural session with a vote of thanks.

The event was presided over by the Head of the Department, Dr. Vigi V Nair, and inaugurated by Mr. Muhammed S Madani, Managing Director of Shopprix India Pvt. Ltd. The welcome address was delivered by Archana K, while Mr. Muhammed Thayyib and Anagha, Vice Chairman of the College Union, rendered the felicitation address. The resource person, Mr. Madani, shared his extensive entrepreneurial experience with the students, providing valuable insights into the industry. The session also included an interactive segment where students engaged directly with resource person fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and practical advice.

On January 31, 2024, the Department of Management Studies organized Opus’24, a Skill Development Programme aimed at promoting creativity and craftsmanship among students. The event was presided over by the Head of the Department, Dr. Vigi V Nair, and inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. VM Santhosh. The welcome address was delivered by Archana K, with felicitations by Mr. Muhammed Thayyib and Adarsh P Raj. The main objective of the programme was to provide a platform for students to showcase their arts and crafts skills. Highlights included various student-made delicacies that added a unique touch to the event. Additionally, the programme invited students from other departments to display an impressive array of artefacts crafted from natural materials, such as pottery, bottle work, textiles, and decorative items, reflecting the region's cultural heritage. Complementing the artefact display, students also prepared and sold a variety of natural food products, including traditional snacks, pickles, jams, cakes, and sweets.

The Department of Management Studies celebrated Christmas spreading the message of joy and happiness. The students and teachers participated in various activities like carol singing, making of cribs etc. We all shared the Christmas cake with each other. It was a very joyful event.

The resource person for this event is Bhama Jito, who is the Branch Head at IAM B-School. This talk aims to shed light on the achievements and challenges faced by women in the business sector, offering insights and inspiration to aspiring women leaders. The event was presided over by the Head of the Department, Dr. Vigi V Nair. The welcome address was delivered by Archana K, with felicitations by Mr. Muhammed Thayyib and Adarsh P Raj.Vote of Thanks was rendered by Ms. Devasena P, III BBA student.

As a part of MOU activity,the Department of Management Studies organized an enlightening session titled "Rewire Your Brain" on the 16th of November, 2023. This session, scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM in Room No. G3, will be led by Ms. Monisha K, an Assistant Professor and Research Scholar from the Department of Management Studies at Dr. Ambedkar Arts and Science College. The talk explored techniques and strategies for enhancing cognitive functions and fostering a growth mindset, providing attendees with practical tools to reshape their thought processes and improve overall mental well-being.

The Department of Management Studies at Payyanur College, Payyanur, is organizing "Keraleeyam," a Kerala Traditional Wear Photo Contest as part of the Kerala Piravi celebrations on November 1st, 2023.The students from various departments actively participated in the programme and Nandana C and team, IIIrd BCom students bagged the First Prize. The prize distribution is held on 16/02/2024.

On 19th September 2023, Department of Management Studies and Department of Physical Education hosted a felicitation ceremony to honor Alka Raghav, a II DC BBA student, for her outstanding achievement in the IPF World Junior Deadlift Championship 2023 held in Romania. Alka Raghav was celebrated for winning the silver medal while representing India in this prestigious competition. The ceremony took place at 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall of Payyanur College, where students, faculty, and staff gathered to congratulate Alka on her remarkable accomplishment and to acknowledge her dedication and hard work in bringing pride to the college and the nation.

Department of Management Studies celebrated Teachers’ Day on 05/09/2023 with various programmes in a jovial manner. As a part of celebration, few of the senior students took an initiative to conduct classes for their juniors. Devasena P, Maneesha K V and Shazeeb Abdul Sathar of III DC BBA took classes for the second-year students and Fathimathul MInnath and Meenakshi P P of III DC and Thushar K V of II DC handled classes for first year students. Students organised fun activities and games ensuring the participation of both teachers and students. The celebration was concluded with a cake cutting arranged by the students as their token of love.

This initiative was part of the 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,' celebrating 75 years of India's independence. The event was held on 14th August 2023 at G1 of the New Block. Students from various departments eagerly participated in the competition, showcasing their artistic talents and creativity. On August 14, 2023, the Department of Management Studies at Payyanur College hosted a felicitation ceremony for the top scorers. The event commenced at 1:30 pm with a welcome speech by Mrs. Archana Kemanabally, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies. Dr. Vigi V Nair, Head of the Department of Management Studies, delivered the Presidential Address, followed by a Keynote Address by Dr. V M Santhosh, Principal of Payyanur College. The ceremony included a token of appreciation presented to the top scorers.  The department honoured rank holders and A-grade achievers, with special congratulations extended to Rajat Vengupoalan Nair and Sharon Biju for securing ranks in the university examination. Felicitations were given by Dr. Swaran P R, IQAC Coordinator, Payyanur College, Mr. Muhammed Thayyib K, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, Mr. Adarsh P Raj, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Studies, and Mr. Arjun V P, Union Representative, Payyanur College. Remarks from the top scorers were also part of the program. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Maneesha K V, IIIrd Year BBA student.

Department of Management Studies conducted a talk on “EXPLORING PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND HUMAN VALUES IN ORGANIZATIONS” on 01/08/2023.The resource person, Mr.Jamsheer E, CMO Edwin Academy delivered an insightful talk on "Professional Ethics and Human Values in Organizations." This event explored the fundamental principles that guide ethical behavior and the importance of human values in a professional setting. Students gained a deeper understanding of how these elements contribute to a positive and productive work environment, fostering integrity, respect, and excellence within organizations. This talk is an excellent opportunity for individuals to reflect on their professional conduct and learn how to navigate ethical dilemmas effectively.

Department of Management Studies, Payyanur College organised “ALUMNI MEET’23”- a get-together of alumni of seven batches (from 2014 to 2020 batch) on 29/07/2023 at Seminar Hall, Payyanur College. The Meet was conducted in a blended mode (both online and offline) so that the students who are from outside can also participate in the programme. The gathering has been led the alumni to reconnect with each other and collect their beautiful memories once again. The Alumni started arriving in college by around 10.30 a.m. The official inaugural function was started with a welcome address by Mrs.Archana K, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Management Studies. The function was presided by Dr Vigi V Nair, Head, Department of Management Studies and the inaugural address given by Dr. Santhosh V M, Principal, Payyanur College. Followed by, 'Jishnu Memorial Endowment' for BBA toppers was handed over by the BBA first batch (2014-17) students to the Principal in memory of their classmate Jishnu. Dr. Swaran P R (IQAC coordinator) and Mr. Arjun V P (College Union student representative) felicitated the function and the formal session was ended with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr.Muhammed Thayyib (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Management Studies).

Department of Management Studies organised a programme “Career in Abroad” on 20/07/2023 at 1.30pm in G1 Class, Payyanur College. The session aims to get an awareness about the career opportunities for students in abroad after BBA course. The resource person Mr.Alensha, MD, Intellectual Abroad, handled the one hour session for both II & III year BBA students. The session gave an overview about the Post graduate courses and diploma courses of various Universities in different foreign countries. And also discussed about the procedure of applying the course and scholarships provided by the institutions. They also gave an insight about the financial support provided for the banks. The session was very informative and beneficial for the students

On June 19, 2023, the Department of Economics and the Department of Management Studies at Payyanur College, Payyanur, jointly organized a dissemination workshop titled "Seeking Ikigai: Envisioning a Holistic Education." The event took place in the Seminar Hall and featured Dr. Altaf S, Assistant Professor at the School of Management Studies, NIT Calicut, as the resource person. The program was convened by Nithya K, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. The workshop was meticulously planned by a committee comprising Binila Mathews, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics, and students from III DC Economics and BBA. The event also had the support and guidance of Dr. Sunitha B Nair, Head of the Department of Economics, and Dr. Vigi V Nair, Head of the Department of Management Studies. The workshop focused on exploring the concept of Ikigai and its application in envisioning a holistic approach to education.
