PAYYANUR COLLEGE GENERAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (PCGAA)
Payyanur College General Alumni Association (PCGAA) is a registered society under society registration act of Kerala Government. PCGAA functions as a nodal agency for maintaining link with the alumni and to involve them in the development and growth of the institution. In addition to this main body, the college has alumni associations for individual departments which meet at least once every year. These annual meetings renew their bond to their ‘alma mater’ and also provide an opportunity to draw feedback on the programs offered by the college, their effectiveness.
The association assists the college in instituting scholarships, organizing lectures and giving lectures by utilizing alumni members, as well as providing financial and logistic support to the various programs organized by the college. The Alumni is helping the students in their project work and also about the employment opportunities in their respective organizations in India and abroad.
The affairs of the association are managed by an executive committee consisting of the President, three Vice Presidents, the Secretary, three Joint Secretaries, the Treasurer and thirty committee members. Manager of College Management, Principal and one representative each from all department alumni association either President or Secretary will be Ex Officio members of the executive committee. Life time Membership fee is Rs. 2000/- and Ordinary membership fee is Rs. 500/- for 3 years which has to be renewed time to time. Membership fee for outgoing students is Rs. 100/- for enrolling them to the Payyanur College General alumni association.

- Scholarships for financially backward students: 33 Scholarships (Rs. 10,000/- per student) were distributed to the needy students. Sri. K. C. Venugopal (Hon. MP), Sri. T. V. Rajesh (Hon. MLA), Sri. Sashi Vattakkovval (Chairman, Payyanur Municipality) were present during the function.

Grand Alumni 2022: To Relive Memories
Alumni of Payyanur College since 1965 is
planning to reunite in the campus once again under the shade of their memories where their lives blossomed. The welcome committee for the program named ‘Grand Alumni 2022’ was created at the meeting held at College Seminar hall on 30/07/2022.
The meeting was inaugurated by T I Madhusudhanan, M L A. Payyanur College General Alumni President Dr P Balakrishnan presided over the function. Ex M L A and alumnus of the college, T V Rajesh proposed the plans for the function. Alumni Association secretary K P Sreedharan delivered the Welcome addres. Board of Management President K Ramachandran, College Principal Dr V M Santhosh, Alumni Association Working President Adv. Sashi Vattakkoval felicitated the function. Members: T V Rajesh (Chairman), Sashi Vattakkoval ( Working Chairman), K P Sreedharan ( General Convenor).The Grand Alumni was decided to be conducted on September 10th, 2022.


Free Medical Camp at Payyanur College
As part of the much coveted Grand Alumni Summit to be held on September 11, a free medical camp was conducted at Payyanur College in association with The Payyanur Co-operative Hospital. Specialists from General Medicine, Opthalmology and Gynaecology participated in the camp that greatly benefited students and people of Edat and nearby areas alike. The camp was inaugurated by Thirkkarippur MLA, M. Rajagopal who is also an alumnus of the college. The camp was directed by the team including Dr. T. V. Kunhikannan who is a passout of the first batch of Payyanur College. In the inaugural function, Adv. Brijesh Kumar welcomed the gathering, Adv. P. Santhosh presided over the function. Felicitations were rendered by K. P. Sreedharan, Dr. T. V. Kunhikannan, K. V. Santhosh, Payyanur College Principal Dr. V. M. Santhosh and Nisha V. K.


‘Get Skilled, Not Killed’- Advocate Vaman Kumar Inspires Students
In connection with the Grand Alumni Meet of Payyanur College to be held on September 11, a motivation class led by Adv. Vaman Kumar alumnus of Department of Economics was conducted for students of Payyanur College on August 29th. The programme was inaugurated by Kannur District Collector Sri. S. Chandrasekhar, IAS. Adv. Vaman Kumar is an international trainer. College auditorium was full with participants. His talk on the topic ‘Get Skilled, Not Killed’ inspired students to achieve great heights. The inaugural function was presided by Sri. Upendra Shenoy. Dr. P. Balakrishnan, K. P. Sreedharan, Adv. P. Santhosh spoke on the occasion. Principal Dr. V. M. Santhosh introduced the speaker. R. Muraleedharan welcomed the gathering and Dr. A. M. Vijeesh said vote of thanks.



REUNION OF YESTERYEAR HEROES
Reunions have become a common event of todays, but this reunion was definitely different. (Number) members of the college union from 1960s met in campus today. They walked down the memory lanes, they talked and talked of a time when their voices, like thunder sounded loud and echoed. They forgot the differences in their flags and remembered the golden days in college holding hands together. They couldn’t stop recollecting all those slogans that reverberated around the walls and pillars of the campus and all those heated debates and talks that unsettled the youth time and again.
This reunion was conducted on 30th August 2022 at 2.00 pm in college seminar hall as part of the Grand Alumni Summit. This grand list of participants includes Ex MLA Sri. T. V. Rajesh who presided over the function. The reunion was inaugurated by the M. P. of Kasaragod Sri. Rajmohan Unnithan. The function was felicitated by K. Ramachandran master, Sri. Sasi Vattakovval, Dr. V. M. Santhosh, Adv. P. Santhosh, Adv. Brijesh Kumar, Sri. K. P. Sreedharan etc. Sri K. K. Suresh Kumar gave the welcome speech and Sri. Prakash Babu said the vote of thanks.

As a publicity drive for Payyanur College Grand Alumni Meet, a …. was conducted. The run started near Perumba Clock tower and ended at Shenoy Square on September 9th. The run was flagged off by Capt. Venugopal Kannoth. The function was presided by the retired Head of the Department of Physical Education Prof. Devasiya. More than a hundred people participated in the run. Dr. V. M. Santhosh, Adv. P. Santhosh and K.P. Sreedharan spoke on the occassion.

Friendly volleyball match
In order to promote the Payyanur College Grant Alumni Meet, an exhibition volleyball match between the old generation athletes and the new generation athletes was held at the Payyanur College ground. Indian volleyball coach T Balachandran chaired the function and former Indian volleyball player Joby Joseph inaugurated the event.
