The Department of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur organized Prof. A Venugopalan Master Memorial Scholarship distribution on 15/02/2024 at 2 pm. Mr. Suresh E V (Asst. Professor, Mathematics) welcomed all and it was followed by the presidential address of Mrs. Shabna C T (HOD & Asst. Professor, Mathematics). Chief guest C Raghavan Master (Rtd. Additional Director of Public Instruction) inaugurated the program and distributed the scholarship for the 2021-24 batch students Vrinda Prakash K, Catherine Shajee & Arun K who secured top positions in their last year examinations. On this occasion, Dr. V M Santhosh (Principal, Payyanur College) honoured the chief guest by giving a token of love and then he addressed the students and appreciated them for their achievements. Also Sri. Nisanth A (Associate Professor, Statistics), Dr. Subha P V (PTA Secretary, Payyanur College) & Anagha Rajan (Vice Chairperson, Payyanur College Union) delivered felicitation to the program.Finally the chief guest had a talk on Tips & Tricks of Mathematics to draw student interest to the subject in a positive way through real life examples. The talk was informative and it was appreciated very much by the students. The program was officially ended with the vote of thanks of Mrs. Reshma E (Asst. Professor, Mathematics).

On 11 August 2023, Dept. Of Mathematics hosted a felicitation program to honor the outstanding performance of its UG and PG Merit holders. The event was held in the college seminar hall at 2.00 pm. The program commenced with the welcome speech of Sri. Suresh E V (Asst Professor, Mathematics) followed by the presidential address of Mrs Shabna C T (HoD & Asst Professor, Mathematics).The scholarship fund Rs. 100100/- was handed over to Dr V M Santhosh (Principal, Payyanur College) by the chief guest Dr P C Sreenivas (Former Principal and alumni of Payyanur College) and they signed an IQAC collaboration between Payyanur College and Gurudev Arts & Science College, Mathil which is aimed to enhance and ensure a better collaboration between Higher Educational Institutions and eradicate the communication gap with frequent evaluation & feedbacks from the stakeholders.

On 22 December 2022, a One-Day workshop on ‘RAMANUJAN: THE MAN WHO KNEW INFINITY’ was organized by the Department of Mathematics honoring the birth anniversary of mathematical genius “Srinivasan Ramanujan”. Sri. Unnikrishnan M V (HST Mathematics, GHS Kuttiyeri) alumni of Mathematics department was the resource person of the programme. The resource person was given information about life and Contributions of Sreenivasa Ramanujan. It was a great experience for the students.

In connection with the National Mathematics Day, two-day celebrations were organized at Payyanur College.  Former Principal and alumni of Payyanur College Dr K T Ravindran inaugurated the program.  Then, Prof. Venugopalan Master Memorial Scholarship was handed over to the students by his wife Dr Meera who was also a former faculty of Payyanur College Hindi Department. Third year Mathematics students Anjali V and Aparna V Nambiar received the scholarship.  On this occasion, cash awards were also distributed to Anjana S K and Sneha V P who achieved high marks in the undergraduate and post graduate examinations. A workshop on 'Research Methodology' and a mathematical exhibition were also organized.  

The Department of Mathematics conducted a seminar on 'Intellectual Property Rights''on 10 March 2022. Dr K T Raveendran, former principal of Payyanur college steered the programme . The objective of the seminar was to create awareness about IPRs, especially patents and copy rights. More than 100 students attended the programme. The workshop covered various aspects of IPRs including IP Tools, Patents, Design, Trademarks, Brand building, Copyright, etc.The session ended with an interaction between students and Dr K T Raveendran.It was a different experience for the students.

Department of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur organized an online talk on GRAPHS AND GROUPS 'on January 22, 2022 between 10.00am to12pm through the Google meet platform. The lecture in this session was given by Swathi V, Research Scholar, NIT, Calicut.Reshma E (HOD and Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur introduced the resource person. Swathi V explained the basic concepts in Group theory and Graph theory in a wonderful manner. Shabna CT (Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, , Payyanur), Suresh E V(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Jijina K(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Aswathi K(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Neethu Manoj K(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur )were also present. We received good response from the students. The resource person thanked the organizers for arranging a live session.

Department of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur organized an online talk on 'PENROSE INVERSE''on November 13, 2021 between 10.00am to12pm through the Google meet platform. The lecture in this session was given by Athira Satheesh K, Research Scholar, NIT, Surathkal. Reshma E (HOD and Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College Payyanur) introduced the resource person. It was an interactive session with our alumni member.  Athira Satheesh K explained the subject in a wonderful manner. Shabna CT (Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Suresh E V(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Jijina K(Assistant Professor of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ), Aswathi K(Guest lecturer of Mathematics, Payyanur College, Payyanur ) were also present. Total 75 students from this Department attended the session.
