The ‘Fruit Orchard’, constructed by Payyannur College NSS Unit No. 11 in collaboration with the Haritha Keralam Mission and the Kunjimangalam Grama Panchayat, was inaugurated recently. The function was presided over by Dr. V. M. Santhosh, Principal of Payyannur College. Smt. Prarthana A, President of Kunjimangalam Grama Panchayat, inaugurated the programme. Mr. E. K. Somasekharan, District Coordinator of Haritha Keralam Mission, was the chief guest. Mr. K. K. Suresh Kumar, President of Payyannur Educational Society, also graced the occasion.
About 70 different varieties of fruit-bearing plants were planted in the orchard as part of the project.
