Department of History Payyanur College Payyanur has organised a Grand Alumni meet, ‘Thirike 24’ on 19 May 2024 of the students graduated in History from 1978 to 2023. The Alumni meet was inaugurated by Dr. M Muraleedharan Nambiar, Registrar, Central University of Kerala and was presided over by Dr. V M Santhosh Principal Payyanur College Payyanur. In the event, retired Professor of the Department, PV Govindan was honoured. The book "Payyanur: Charithravum Samskaravum" written by the alumni Dr. MK Jayanesh was released during the function and Dr. Jisha D Nair, HoD, Department of History handed over the proposal of the Art Gallery to Dr. Shajimon TJ (Secretary & Alumni Co-ordinator). Dr. PR Swaran (IQAC Co-ordinator, Payyanur College) and Nandhitha Vinod (Secretary, History Association) felicitated the gathering. Dr. Prasanth  P (Alumni Co-ordinator, Department of History) welcomed the gathering and Dr. Bhagyalakshmi delivered the vote of thanks. Painting exhibition by Sasikala K was one of the main attractions of the programme.
