This exhibition promised to showcase the vibrant history and traditions of the region on 19th March 2024 through mobile museum, offering student visitors from Edanad West U P School Payyanur, a unique opportunity to learn and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Malabar.

Department of History in association with School of Social Sciences, MG University and University of Chieti Italy, organized a four-day international workshop focused on bead making technologies in premodern India from 1st to 4th December 2023. During the workshop, participants had the unique opportunity to learn from experts about bead making techniques in ancient Indian art. From hands-on demonstrations to insightful lectures, attendees will gain valuable knowledge about the evolution of bead making technologies in premodern India.
One of the highlights of the year was the department's annual Research Methodology Workshop, was organized by the Social Science Forum Payyanur College, from 19th November to 25th November 2023 where faculty, students, and guest speakers came together to present their research on a variety of historical topics. Research Methodology Workshop is a specialized program designed to provide researchers with the necessary tools and techniques to conduct high-quality research in the field of Social Sciences.

On 5th September 2023, the students of Department of History celebrated Teachers Day by honoring its faculty members for their unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and research. A poster exhibition was organized on 24th August 2023 by Social Science Forum, Payyanur College as part of the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence. College Principal Dr. Santhosh V M inaugurated the program held at Western Block. This event was not just a display of pictures but a journey through time, allowing visitors to experience the past in a new and immersive way. From black and white snapshots of iconic moments to vibrant images that captured the essence of different eras.
