The Grand Alumni Meet THIRIKE’24 presented a rare opportunity on 19^th May 2024 to reconnect with old classmates, honoring professors, and mentors, fostering a sense of belonging and friendship among alumni. The Department of History has a rich legacy of producing graduates who have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields in the society. This Grand Alumni Meet was a testament to the strong bonds formed during their time at the college and served as a platform for alumni to come together and celebrate their success.

This one-of-a-kind event offered a mobile museum experience like no other, bringing history and culture directly to students. This exhibition promised to showcase the vibrant history and traditions of the region on 19^th March 2024 through mobile museum, offering student visitors from Edanad West U P School Payyanur, a unique opportunity to learn and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of Malabar. The Department Museum Exhibition plays a vital role in the preservation of the cultural heritage of the region. By curating and showcasing artifacts, artworks, and historical documents, the exhibition not only educates students about the history of Malabar but also helps in preserving these valuable pieces of heritage for future generations.

LE PASSE 2024 event organized on 27^th February 2024 by the students of the department was not just any ordinary gathering, but a celebration of history, culture, and knowledge. From quiz competitions to fun games, historical and cultural exhibitions, LE PASSE 2024 promised to be an unforgettable experience for all who attended. The quiz competition at LE PASSE 2024 was the perfect opportunity to put knowledge to the test. From questions about famous historical events to trivia about different cultures around the world, participants had the chance to showcase their intellect. The fun games at LE PASSE 2024 were designed to entertain and engage visitors of all ages. Historical and Cultural Exhibition: A Journey Through Time Stepped into a world of wonder and discovery at the historical and cultural exhibition at LE PASSE 2024. It was a stroll through time as one explores artifacts, artworks, and exhibits that showcase the rich history and diverse cultures of the India. From ancient civilizations to modern innovations, this exhibition offered a glimpse into the past while also looking towards the future.

Department of History in association with School of Social Sciences, MG University and University of Chieti Italy, organized a four-day international workshop focused on bead making technologies in premodern India from 1^st to 4^th December 2023. During the workshop, participants had the unique opportunity to learn from experts about bead making techniques in ancient Indian art. From hands-on demonstrations to insightful lectures, attendees will gain valuable knowledge about the evolution of bead making technologies in premodern India.

One of the highlights of the year was the department's annual Research Methodology Workshop, was organized by the Social Science Forum Payyanur College, from 19^th November to 25^th November 2023 where faculty, students, and guest speakers came together to present their research on a variety of historical topics. Research Methodology Workshop is a specialized program designed to provide researchers with the necessary tools and techniques to conduct high-quality research in the field of Social Sciences. Some of the key topics covered in this workshop included:

• Introduction to research methodologies in Social Sciences
• Data collection and analysis techniques
• Writing and presenting research findings
• Ethical considerations in research

On 5^th September 2023, the students of Department of History celebrated Teachers Day by honoring its faculty members for their unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and research. The celebrations typically kick off with a heartfelt tribute from the students to their teachers, expressing their gratitude and admiration. This is followed by a series of activities and events planned throughout the day

A poster exhibition was organized on 24^th August 2023 by Social Science Forum, Payyanur College as part of the 75^th anniversary of Indian Independence. College Principal Dr. Santhosh V M inaugurated the program held at             Western Block. This event was not just a display of pictures but a journey through time, allowing visitors to experience the past in a new and immersive way. From black and white snapshots of iconic moments to vibrant images that captured the essence of different eras.

The Department of History organized a special event on 9^th August 2023 to commemorate the significance of the Quit India Movement. This event served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by our ancestors during the struggle for independence and highlighted the relevance of this historic movement in today's context. Students and faculty members participated in various activities such as exhibition and seminar to pay tribute to the heroes of the past.
