In the seminar he gave complete information on Logistics industry and its opportunities and threats. The Departments of Commerce and Management Studies at Payyanur College jointly organized a memoir to pay tribute to the legendary businessman and philanthropist, Sri Ratan Tata.College Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Santhosh V M, delivered a heartfelt homage, highlighting Sri Ratan Tata's immense contributions to Indian industry and society.Students Thushar (Final BBA) and Anurag Gokul M P (Second B Com) presented insightful speeches on Sri Ratan Tata's corporate achievements and philanthropic endeavors, showcasing his transformative impact. Department of Commerce and Career Guidance Cell of Payyanur College organised a talk on "MBA as a career option on 06/09/2024. Sri Manoj Kumar A K (Centre Director, T.I.M.E ,Kannur ) handled the session.

On September 5, 2024, the Department of Commerce celebrated Teachers' Day with enthusiasm. In a unique initiative, four final-year students conducted peer teaching sessions for their junior classmates, showcasing their leadership skills. Meanwhile, the faculty members of the Department of Commerce visited the HOPE centre in Pilathara, a rehabilitation facility, and donated essential groceries worth ₹5,000. The teachers spent quality time with the inmates, spreading positivity and joy, making the day truly special."

The Earn While Learn Programme is an ongoing initiative that provides Commerce students with hands-on direct marketing experience. In partnership with the ED Club and Kerala Dinesh, the department organizes this event, allowing students to sell Dinesh Foods products on a commission basis, thereby earning a return while gaining valuable marketing skills and experience. Prof (Dr ) Santhosh V M (Principal, Payyannur College)inaugurated the program. Payyannur College's Department of Commerce hosted 'Quizzeria 24', an inter-school business quiz, on August 8, 2024. The event saw 44 teams from 23 schools competing, with Kendriya Vidyalaya, Payyannur emerging as the winner. Dr. Premachandran Keezhoth, Principal in charge, presented the prizes to the winners: - First Prize: Thanmay Suresh and Prathyush Sudheer (Kendriya Vidyalaya, Payyannur) - Second Prize: Karthik Vijayan and Anirudh Pradeep (GHSS Mathil) - Third Prize: Muhammed Shahid C and Diya Fathima K P (Seethi Sahib HSS,Taliparamba)

On August 7, 2024, the Department of Commerce at Payyannur College hosted an insightful program, 'Union Budget 2024: An Analytical Perspective'. Renowned speaker CA Rahul Rajan (FCA) delved into the budget's key aspects, including tax reforms, core features of the new finance bill, and the opportunities and challenges it presents. This informative session benefited final and second-year students, offering them a deeper understanding of the Union Budget 2024."

Department of Commerce and ED Club of Payyannur College Payyannur co ordinated the magazine release event of the second volume of Leaders Speak. The Magazine contains interviews and life stories of 14 successful entrepreneurs. Sri Jayachandran C V ( Director, RUDSET)released the magazine. Prof (Dr ) Santhosh V M(Principal),Dr P Santhosh( HoD), Dr Jayarajan T K, Smt Krishna Nambiar,Dr Nisamudheen T, Ms Vishnupriya and Mr Abhiram S spoke at the event.

Food Fest, fun games and sale of crafts of students: To inculcate organisation, accounting and management skills in students ,the Department conducted Food Fest. Principal Prof (Dr) Santhosh V M inaugurated the fest.

Digital Addiction and safety -an awareness class was provided to B Com students. Ms Sudheeshna N(Psychologist,D Dad Centre) handled the session. Mr Ashok Narayan (Associate Art Director,Malayalam Film Industry) Inaugurated the Programme. The programme was sponsored by PCCAA

The GIIMS Institute of Logistics ,Kochi conducted a session for finding the college level Best Manager for their state level contest coming on March. EVENT: Best Manager Method : Two faculties from GIIMS Institute of Logistics ,Kochi conducted various sessions to find out the best manager. Context: Payyanur College Commerce Alumni Association decided to distribute learning kits to first year B Com students (2023-26).Mr Rajmohan Nileswaram(Theatre Artist) distributed learning kits. To inculcate the organising skills in commerce students and to commemorate the works of Lucca Paccioli ,father of Accounting , department of Commerce organised A Quiz on Accounting on Nov 10 th 2023. Winners: First Prize : Anurag Gokul M P and Sreerag Chandran Second Prize : Amrutha M V and Ashna P Third Prize : Mufeeda Muhammed K P and Marjana Ismail Ahamad Dr P R Swaran ( Co-ordinator,IQAC) distributed the prizes to the winners.

To discuss the Nobel Prize Winner Claudia Goldin and her research works on women labour market outcomes. Dr Narayanan P (Assistant Professor of Economics, EKNM Govt College, Elerithattu )handled the session. He discussed in detail the works of Claudia Goldin leading her to win Nobel Prize. Dr P Santhosh Presided over the function.

On September 5, 2023, at 1.30 pm in G 31, the Department of Commerce celebrated Teachers' Day with its former HoD Dr. P V Premavalli, who was also our college's former Principal. Dr. P V Premavalli was honored by HoD Dr. P Santhosh. Dr. Jayarajan T K, Mrs Krishna Nambiar, and Dr. Nisamudheen T were present. Following that, the teacher engaged with the department's first-year students.

Department of Commerce organised Felicitation programme for honouring the Toppers of last year Kannur University Bcom examination. Department of Commerce maintained its first position in the university pass percentage. Mr Sasikumar M V (Director, ICM, Trivandrum )inaugurated the programme. He distributed momentos to 9 A+ grade holders and 24 A grade holders. He congratulated the winners and spoke to students on the topic “How to Define Success”.Dr P Santhosh ( HoD) presided over the function.Prof (Dr)V M Santhosh ( Principal),Mrs Krishna Nambiar, Dr Nisamudheen T, sri Arjun K V ( Union Representative) spoke at the function.

A career counselling class for third-year B.com students was arranged on August 8th, and Dr. Santosh, the principal of Payyanur College, gave the discussion.On the event Certificates for those who suucessfully completed ADD on /Course were distributed.Dr Santhosh P (HoD) presided over the function.He mainly spoke on the traits that students should have and how students lived during this time.He also spoke on the recently developed field of artificial intelligence (AI), which has the potential to determine the majority of our daily activities and circumstances.

The Inter School Quiz Competition & Career Training Programme “QUIZZERIA-23” was held on 27^th July 2023 at Payyanur College. All the participants performed with full spirit in this round and finally the following schools secured the prizes:- 1^st-ghss mathamangalam 2^nd-kendriya vidhyalaya,edat 3^rd-moothedath hss After this quiz competition a career training programme was conducted by Dr.T.K Jayarajan and Dr.P.Santhosh.

Department of Commerce conducted one day research methodology workshop on Introduction to research. Sri Vaisakh P K ( Senior Research Fellow, Kannur University )handled the session.

On the eve of womens day celebrations the department of Commerce organised an inter departmental presentation competition on the topic “Women in Business”. 12 teams participated in the competition and Meenakshi and Hiranya of Dept of Management Studies bagged the first prize. Anagha Raj and Thahira Rafiya of Dept of English secured second position and Anagha K V and Nivya C secured third prize. Prof Dr Santhosh V M distributed the cash prizes and certificates and congratulated the organisers for conducting such programs.

Department of Commerce organised a food fest on 07/03/2023. The programs were planned and executed by second B Com students. Principal in charge Dr A C Sreehari inaugurated the fest.

Department of Commerce, ED Club and Girls Welfare Committee of Payyanur College jointly organised oneday skill acquisition workshop on dress designing. This programme is sponsored by Pidilite Co. Prof Dr Santhosh V M inagurated the session. Dr P R Swaran, Dr Jayarajan T K, Dr Santhosh O, Dr Sreemaya C, Smt Krishna Nambiar and Dr Nisamudheen spoke at the event. Smt Sheejakumari and smt Umadevi handled the sessions on Dress Designing and fabric oainting workshop.

As part of the Academic Collaboration with the Department of Commerce, Payyanur College, Payyanur and Department of Commerce ,Co-Operative Arts and Science College, Madayi. On 28th February 2023, Department of Commerce, Payyanur College organized a One day workshop on Research Methodology and Application of SPSS in collaboration with Department of Commerce, Co-Operative Arts and Science College, Madayi for the Commerce students of Co-Operative Arts and Science College, Madayi.

Department of Commerce and ED Club of Payyanur College, Payyanur organised Entrepreneurship Awareness seminar for its members in association with District Industries Centre. Dr Santhosh V M ( Pricipal, Payyanur College ) inagurated the seminar. Sri Girish Kumar K P( Assistant District Officer, DIC, Taliparamba)welcomed the delegates. Dr Santhosh P( faculty, Dept of Commerce) presided over the function. Smt Krishna Nambiar paid vote of thanks. Dr Nisamudheen T, Sri Sreekanth T V, Sri Josemon were present in the seminar. Sri Sunil M (Industries Extension Officer,Taliparamba ) and Sri Abhilash Narayanan (Faculty, RUDSET ) handled sessions on entrepreneurship.

A megajob fair was organised by Commerce department and Payyanur College Commerce Alumbi Association on Oct 3.2022. The event was inaugurated by College Principal Dr Santhosh V M. Retd Principal Prof K Narayanan, Dr P R Swaran, Dr Jayarajan T K, Dr Santhosh P, Mrs Krishna Nambiar, CA Muhammed Davood C M K, Mr Rajeev K M and Mr Suresh Shenoy were present. ABC Group, HDFC Life, ICICI Prudential, Ideal Decor, Impact Group, LIC, PNB MetLife, Malabar Gold, Sulfex Group and Troikka Pharmaceuticals interviewed 85 prospective employees. Prior to the jobfair PCCAA organised four day sessions on interview skills to the registered candidates.

Orientation sessions were given to first B Com students. Dr Thayyib P V, Sri Muhammed Sarbash and Sri Muhammed Ameen handled sessions on Future Ready Gradutes and College to Corporates.

Department of Commerce and ED Club of Payyanur College, Payyanur organised workshop on cosmetic soap making. Dr Santhosh V M inagurated the program. Sri Rajesh P T from Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishath handled the session and explained in detail about the chemical and commercial sides of soap making.

Mr. K. Ramachandran Master, President of the College Board of Management, inaugurated the “Samriddhi” scheme to provide free lunch to the needy students under the auspices of Payyannur College Commerce Department. Dr. Jayarajan TK, Head of Commerce Department presided over the function, Payyannur College Principal Dr VM Santhosh, College IQAC Coordinator Dr PR Swaran, Dr P Santhosh, Mrs Krishna Nambiar, Dr Nizamuddin T, Kumari Meghana P, Kumari Nivya C and others spoke on the occasion. This scheme of providing free mid-day meals to the economically backward students of the department is implemented with the help of the alumni of the department of commerce.

The launch of the magazine jointly prepared by Payyanur College Commerce Department and Entrepreneurship Development Club was held at the College Seminar Hall. Mr MTP Muhammad Kunhi, Chief Managing Director, Sulfex Group released the magazine to Mr. K. Ramachandran, Manager, Payyanur College. Payyanur College Principal Dr VM Santhosh, College IQAC Coordinator Dr PR Swaran, Dr Jayarajan TK, Dr P Santhosh, Mrs. Krishna Nambiar, Dr Nissamudhin T, Kumari Meghana P, Kumari Nivya C and others spoke on the occasion. The magazine “Leaders Speak” prepared by B.Com students was released by covering the life experiences and experiences of eleven successful individuals in the business field of Kannur district.
