A get-together titled ‘Oru Vattam Koodi’ was held at Payyannur College on Sunday, July 28, 2024, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1997-99 Pre-Degree Science batches. Renowned actor Sri Santhosh Keezhattoor was the chief guest. The program was presided over by Shanooj V P, and Dr. Vijesh A M welcomed the gathering. Principal of Payyannur College, Dr. V M Santhosh, Promod Puthalath, and retired English department teacher Prof. E Damodaran spoke on the occasion. Santhosh Keezhattoor released the magazine ‘Oru Vattam Koodi’ published by the alumni. Biju John delivered the vote of thanks. After the inaugural ceremony, a felicitation program for teachers was held. 30 teachers attended the programme. Following lunch, there were dance performances by alumni and other cultural events. As a memento of the gathering, alumni planted a tree in the ‘Johnsi Vanam’ at Payyannur College as part of the ‘Maram Oru Varam’ (A tree, a boon) program. More than 200 alumni attended the event.”
