The Central Government of India as well as the Government of Kerala is offering various scholarships to meritorious students of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Streams with outstanding performance in the education sector as well as to the students of socially and economically backward categories.
Following are the types of categories of scholarship that the students can avail during their period of study
POSTMETRIC SCHOLARSHIP
Rate of Scholarship
An amount equivalent to Admission and Course/Tuition Fee and Maintenance allowance, subjected to a maximum ceiling
Eligibility
- Should be the First Year student of UG/ PG/ Ph.D Course and should belong to Minority Community (Muslim/ Christian/ Buddhists/ Sikh/ Zoroastrians or Parsis).
- Should have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous Board/ University Examination.
- The Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs. 2 Lakhs.
- Should not be availing any other Scholarship or Stipend. Other Relevant Information
- Scholarships will not be given to more than two students in a family.
CENTRAL SECTOR SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Rate of Scholarship:
Under Graduate Students: Rs.1000/- per month for (Subject to a Maximum ofRs. 10,000/- for an academic year) and Rs. 2000/- per month for Post-Graduate studies (Subject to a Maximum of Rs. 20,000/- for an academic year), provided they are selected for Scholarship at UG level.
Eligibility:
- Applicant should be pursuing any Regular Course at Under-Graduate Degree level in any recognized Educational Institution, including Professional Courses such as Medical, Engineering etc. Students pursuing Parallel/ Private Registration/ Correspondence/ Distance Education courses are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
- Parental income Both Father and Mother should not exceed Rs 6 lakhs per annum for the financial year ending March 2013
- Applicant should not be availing any other scholarships/ Financial Assistance.
- Applicants should not be belonging to the Creamy-layer
SUVARNA JUBILEE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Rate of Scholarship:
Rs. 10,000/- per annum.
Eligibility
- Should be a first year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments.
- Should belong to BPL family.
- Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
STATE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Rate and Number of Scholarships:
Graduation Rs. 1250/- per annum (300 Nos)
Post Graduation Rs. 1,500/- per annum (150 Nos.)
Eligibility Conditions:
- Should be a first-year student of Under Graduate or Post Graduate course in Govt/ Aided colleges or University Departments.
- Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.

DISTRICT MERIT SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Rate of Scholarship:
Rs. 1,250/- per annum.
Eligibility:
- DMS Should have scored A Plus in all subjects in the SSLC Examination March 2013, conducted by Board of Public Examinations, Kerala State.
- Should be studying for Higher Secondary/ VHSC/ ITI/ Poly Technic Course.
BLIND/PH SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY DETAILS
Eligibility
Blind/PH/Deaf students studying in Govt/Aided Arts and Science Colleges, Music Colleges, and Govt/Aided Higher Secondary/Vocational Higher Secondary Schools
Financial Support
- Fee Charges for Blind students with family annual income below Rs. 2.5 lakhs
- Hostel charges for all PH students who are hostellers and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.5 lakhs/-
- Boarding charges for all PH students who are day scholars and whose family annual income is below Rs. 4.5 lakhs
Sanskrit Scholarship -DCE Eligibility Details

Students admitted under merit and reservation quota
- Students who belong to the categories of Scheduled castes, other eligible communities, OBCs and other communities who are socially and economically backward including forward castes
- Students whose attendance is not below 75% at the end of each month

Lumpsum grant, Monthly stipend (day scholars) ABLC + Pocket Money (hostellers) Reimbursement of Tuition Fee, Special fee and examination fee in full without income limit.

For +1 and +2 Monthly stipend, reimbursement of special fee and exam fee subject to income limit
Financial Support
For Degree Courses
Reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.
For PG and Professional courses Lumpsum grant, monthly stipend , Reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam subject to income limit
For degree courses Reimbursement of tuition fee, Special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.
For PG and Professional Courses : Lumpsum grant, monthly stipend , reimbursement of tuition fee, special fee and exam fee subject to income limit.
Fee is sanctioned once in an Academic year and paid to institution’s Account.
- LSG is sanctioned once in a year, stipend and mess Charges are sanctioned are credited to student’s bank Account.
SNEHAPOORVAM SCHOLARSHIP
Rate of Scholarship
Rs 1000 per month
Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a resident of Kerala state
- The applicant must be an orphan
- An applicant must be studying in any of the government or private school of Kerala state
- The applicant must belong to below the poverty line
- For children belonging to APL Category, the annual income must be-
- Below 20,000 for rural areas
- Below 22,375 or less for urban areas
Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship-DCE Eligibility Details

1. C H Muhammed Koya Scholarship
Rate and Number of Scholarships:
Under Graduates: Rs. 5,000/- per annum (3,000 Nos).
Post Graduates: Rs. 6,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
Professional Courses: Rs. 7,000/- per annum (1,000 Nos).
Hostel Stipend: Rs. 13,000/- per annum (2,000 Nos).
THOSE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR HOSTEL STIPEND WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR SCHOLARSHIP.
Eligibility
- Should belong to MUSLIM, Latin, Converted Christian community and should be a native of Kerala.
- Should be a GIRL student studying for the first year of Graduation or Higher courses in Govt./ Aided Institution.
- Should have scored 50% or above in the qualifying Examination.
- Family Annual income should not exceed 6 Lakhs.
- Those who apply for Hostel stipend should be staying in recognized hostels.
